• Water is one of the most important factors in crop growth.
Crop Schedule and Dacom irrigation solution platforms will shows what the daily water consumption of the crop has been throughout the different soil layers.

Water is one of the most important factors in crop growth. This occasionally necessitates the irrigation of crops during the growing season.

The key is to irrigate the right volume at the right moment. By installing a soil moisture sensor in the grower’s field, both the Crop Schedule and Dacom irrigation solution platforms will shows what the daily water consumption of the crop has been throughout the different soil layers. This data can be used to determine the optimum time for irrigation. This prevents both damage due to drought stress and excessive watering.

Optimizing crop water usage results in an increase in yield and quality crops. For this purpose, we use only the best hardware by using the Green Shield probe and UNO data loggers . This takes care of the same quality and compatibility, for the hardware is exchangeable and the system can easily be added to either the Crop Scan or Dacom network. We also now have the newest available technology in this field available being the LoRa Van probes and data loggers.

MEASURE AND SEND DATA AUTOMATICALLY:

  • Quality and depth of the irrigations
  • Levels of soil moisture retention
  • Depth of the crop root zone
  • Impact of weather and rainfall events on an area

KEY BENEFITS:

  • State of the art technology
  • Soil Moisture is the hidden variable as it is below ground and out of sight. The Crop Systems soil management program, Crop Scheduler, is the most complete of its kind in the field.
  • Mobile application
  • Crop Scheduler presents the soil moisture data in a user friendly app on your mobile device or tablet. This feature allows for in-field decision making, owing to the automated transfer of data.
  • Fault free recording
  • The UNO communication device plus our Green Shield soil moisture probes ensure regular fault free recording is transferred continuously.

The Green Shield probes

  • Volumetric and soil specific calibration to determine water content of soil.
  • Not influenced by soil salinity levels.
  • Capacitive measurement.
  • Stackable and flexible design to enable various profile probe configurations.
  • SDI- 12 data interface with transient protection.
  • Supply voltage range: 6 - 16V.
  • Current consumption: 21mA in active mode, 80µA in sleeping mode.
  • In-field service accessibility.
  • Temperature compensated.
  • Operating temperature range: - 20 - + 65°C.
  • Standard SDI 12 interface that will connect to most data logger  types.
  • Comes standard with 5m shielded cable - additional cable lengths can be  ordered up to 20m on a price per meter.

Green Shield manufactures below soil variant (GSSPS),  designed for specific needs of customers. Although the casting comes standard with the below soil variants, our above soil sensor is serviceable even when planted in the soil.

The well designed enclosure head will keep the system dry and protected. All hardware shares a standard SDI-12 protocol and would be compatible to most telemetry systems world-wide.

WEATHER STATIONS

  • Supports a wide range of SDI-12 sensors.
  • High frequency measurement interval to assist in accurate data analysis.
  • Optimize sensor power supply management. Never compromise on measurements.

CONTROL SYSTEMS

  • Relay control system, backed by cloud intelligence.
  • Real-time control 24/7.
  • Supports low power solar operation with latch based relays.
  • Rule based system to act intelligently.

MOISTURE SENSORS

  • Crop Systems can support a wide range of probes but only install the Green Shield probes as we believe it to be the best.
  • Connect multiple probes across a distance.
  • Wireless communication from probe to telemetry supported.
